Replying to:RL24 Centreboard
After the last sail and putting onto the trailer, the centre board plate on my MkIII would not retract fully. The raising blocks go cheek to cheek at the Samson post, yet the board is not right up. It is as if the lift wire has mysteriously stretched by approx 30mm. I cannot see any obvious damage. I have not hit anything that I can recall. I think I can effect a fix by simply shortening the wire, but would like to understand why. I raised and lowered the board in the water today, and apart from not retracting fully, it seemed Ok. Has anybody experienced anything similar? Would a broken front swing bolt cause this? Thanks
