Modifications to an RL34 - Jonathan Bogais

I own a RL34 which I have had modified extensively for serious cruising. This included underwater configuration improving stiffness and stability enormously and rigging to match, custom built (professionally) stern arch hosting wind generator and antennas, etc.. We have sailed extensively along the eastern coast, crossed to Lord Howe Island twice, and are very happy with her now.

As we discovered, the major drawbacks of the RL34 were caused by her tenderness. Resolving this problem makes her a very fine cruiser indeed with great advantages much more effective and practical than many of the big names in the same size.
