Looks fantastic - closet boat builder needing to come out!
Rob, Love the look of the boat. Simplicity, modern, affordable and can handle a combination of people. Me and the missus or me and the adrenlin mates.
Would encourage you to consider it from a simplicity perspective in terms of its construction and final racable product. For example having a minimum weight requirement on the finished hull, min weight on keel, min number of bulk heads, bouyancy etc. The point of all this being that if a home builder has a boat he can compete against an exotic. You may end up witha class that caters to builders liking the beauty of a timber boat and still be competitive and safe. Modern construction materials have made this more posible than ever.

I fancy the idea of building a boat myself. I am attracted to the Status 580 but this design looks just as good. Could you please send plans and sufficient details so that I can consider its feasability.

    Cheers
    Ev

    Hi Robb,

I would mind being able to study the design a bit further, with the view of building one.

What building method do you see as being the ideal arrangement?

Just like to say I've always liked the RL's. Theres one here at the farm owned by my boss, friends of mine own a RL24 in Portland, and another family of friends own a RL28 also in Portland.

    Regards

    Matt
