RL24 Trailer
We are in west vic and need to get a new trailer as the axle is bent and the yacht is stuck in the backyard! We are novices and have no idea of prices best suited etc, the back end of the trailer is very rusty so is it unfixable?? Would be grateful for any advice or info. Thanks heaps - FreeSpirit

RL24 Trailer
I have been shopping for a trailer for about 3 months and just ordered one from Felk Trailers in Newcastle.

I optioned a Alko axle, spare tyre and no winch making the price $3680 pick up in Newcastle. Price was $3340 with std axle (1400kg).

Beware ordering a standard trailer from other suppliers. For a number of reasons, I needed to specify a custom trailer that suited the RL24.

Read earlier posts on trailers and posts on this site and the Trailer Sailer Place site to find out what issues others and I uncovered.

I could not get a suitable spec from most Victorian trailer manufacturers. Most would not offer tilt and getting a single axle trailer long enough to suit the RL24 was also an issue. If interested email me and I will send a copy of the trailer spec I used. I selected Felk due to a customer recommendation(someone in Vic just bought one and likes what they got) and the simple fact that they were not insulting over the telephone or in person.

The Felk trailer is the premium solution to trailer replacement, you can buy a cheap non tilting standard tandem trailer from Australian Trailers for probably $3000, but then the boat won't fit properly, has no tilt must be launched on a steep deep ramp and has cheap axle gear.

I plan to do it once and get it right.

Greg
