Sails and system setup
G'day guys. Me and a few mates recently bought boat number 15 and are trying to get it ready for our first Bay to Bay race.
The boat was purchased with the original main sail and has no setup for a spinnaker, bar the halyard.
Does anyone have a decent 2nd hand mainsail or spinnaker they would be willing to sell to us?
I see in the association rules that the pole should be 2.67metres in total. Does anyone have advice on how to make one e.g. tube size, wall thickness etc.
Thanks in advance,
Max

Re: help
Hi Max. I recommend you try to get hold of Andrew Pike who sails Sly Fox out of Brisbane (I think you are in Brisbane?).

He has just done a full refurbishment of his boat and it looks really good as well as probably being set up as efficiently as any other for racing. Look up the RL24 Facebook page and contact him through that.

Re: Sails and system setup
Hi Max
The class spinnaker is tiny, so you don't need any bigger than 40mm dia. pole so long as you you have a bridle on the downhaul.
cheers, Peter
