Hi, Recently I purchased a RL24 mk3 swing keel. It was set up for cruising, I have completely stripped it ready for a refit. I noticed that spot where the forestay meets the deck has been moved forward. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas as to where is should be.

Many Thanks

Most of the RL24s in my club Melbourne Trailable YC have their forestays as far forward as can possible be acheived. In the case of "THE STING", I have a wire strop which goes through the front deck and around a wire block (ronstan RF104AW) under the deck and back to a 12:1 tackle system. This system is located under the deck and along one side of the anchor well, the rope tail (4mm spectra)is then led back along the side deck to a cleat by the baulkhead. The wire block is held in place by a S/S bolt through the bow. This style of system enables adjustment of the forstay anytime will under sail and also the easy attachment of forestay when rigging due to its 180mm of travel.
