I intend to fit a main sheet traveller in place of the centre U bolt that my boat now has; Can anyone please give me some advice as to the type and size of timber to use to attach the track to and any reinforcing needed.

Origonally the raised main sheet track support timber was 50MM x18mm and proved to be quite adiquate if it is a hardwood and no further reinforcing should be needed.
