 Status 580, Big rig, | I sail a standard ( though Fully Battened) sail area 580 with 3 other local 580s, 1 of our boats has vastly improved his performance, (4-5%) in all conditions, by the addition of modified 16' Skiff sails. Using the standard mast minus backstay, and with the sail recut to suit the mast with square top. Compared to the price of a new set of sails it was a cheap alternative with a positive result. (He is now handicapped accordingly and enjoying the extra speed)
