Replying to:Chain Plate position
G'day I'm doing away with the backstay on my Mk1 drop keel, the current chainplates are approx half along the front window...Most illustrations I've seen have backstayless boats with chainplates midway between windows, has any one got a measurement - say "back from the mast step" or an opinion? I've also got a couple of 80mmm tappered alum masts to sell - round 9m long - class rule says 8.3m Another item on offer is an orig swing rudder with cast cheeks.
