RL 24 Kenyon Mast Crack
The foot of my Kenyon mast has a 4-sheave exit block. The two corners at the top cuts have cracks which I think is due to not being rounded by the previous owner. One fix is to cut off the bottom portion of the mast about three inches and resize the standing wire rigging. But, can I screw SS tangs on the two damaged sides over the cracks and feel safe? Appreciate an inexpensive but proven method.

Re: RL 24 Kenyon Mast Crack
Bob,

Why not drill out the cracks where they end and then get the mast welded back up. This may be a lot easier that you think to do a cheaper as well than cutting the rig down and resizing the rigging.
