RL28 swing keel lifting rod replacement
Can anyone give me an advice how often a rod connecting a swing keel to the hydraulic cylinder should be replaced? It looks to me that it is made out of stainless steel. If this is a case should the rod and the fittings be replaced every five years?

My concern is that if that rod breaks, the keel dropping from some height would damage the hull and make the boat to sink.

My boat is 23years old, had three previous owners and I have no history on the maintenance work done in the past. I know for sure that no work has been done on the lifting mechanism in the last 10 years and the boat was moored during this time.
