Asymmetrical Spinnaker Dimensions
Purchased an RL24 from Steve Knowlton, Derry, NH, USA last summer. We refrubished interior, some hull painting, trailer bearings replaced, etc. We are extremely pleased. We were able to sail it on Lake Champlain for a week and were pleasantly surprised at how well it sailed. We had a couple of days with gusts around 20+ knots and it stood up well. We could easily hold 6.5 knots+ average.
I am interested in getting an asymmetrical spinnaker and would appreciate any assistance in recommmended dimensions. The rig is standard fractional rig with backstay. The mast is a US Kenyon non-tappered. I do not plan to race this and I cruise with my wife, so a regular spinnaker is not what I need. I am considering a DIY kit from Sailrite (sailrite.com).
I have attached a photo taken at Burlington, VT. There would be about 2 ft of ice there right now!!
I have enjoyed this site. Lots of good ideas. I just wish there were more RL24's to meet in the US.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
David
