RL28 - Parts General

I own an RL28 in WA (named 'Sloop Du Jour') and I need assistance please in sourcing parts. At this point in time I'm trying to find replacement handles for my bow-hatch. I don't know if it is original equipment, but I guess it may be, for I cannot find a set in Perth.

Else, can you suggest where I can start 'looking'?

Re: front hatch on RL28
The front hatch on the RL28 (with 3 or 4 bars attached to protect the glass) is "Houdini" brand, made in the UK I think.

My local chandlery (Muir's in Brisbane) says the hatches and parts are available but VERY EXPENSIVE now! They are also renowned for leaking as they age (which I have certainly found).

The best remedy is to replace the hatch with a different type - both expensive and time consuming, but Sikaflex make a glue for bonding glass and aluminium which stops the leak.

Sorry I don't have a cheap solution for the handles.

RL28 houdini hatch repairs W.A.-Marine&Windows0893303800 3Malland st. Myaree.
Marine &Mobile windows 3 malland st. Myaree,0893303800.This company replaced the rubber seals around the glass & hinged section of my old leaking Houdini Hatch;to save money, I removed the hatch myself, they also replaced the coroded ally handles with new plastic coated ones .My wallet became $200 odd lighter, but I believe it was probably cheaper & simpler than replacing it with a different shaped 1 .Had they fitted it to the RL28 themselves, their may have been a guarentee. However I am satisfied with my investment! Other States check yellow pages-Boat &yatch equipment.
