Blowing off the cobwebs, now I need some questions answered can you help?
Well I finally dragged the Status 580 slipstream out of dads garage. It looks like the day he bought it. It's been sailed 8 times and is sail number 006. A few questions.
#1 How many status 580 slipstreams were built?
#2 How much would I expect to pay for a spinaker? We don't have one and could I get a used one perhaps?
#3 How fast/competitive are these yachts?
I am putting it back in the water in June with a good friend of mine who is quite a good sailer so we are very excited to see how competitive she will be. I will post some pictures next week after I have finished cleaning and rigging her up.

Ok I spoke to dad after I cleaned it up on the weekend. From what I can gather, It is a Slipstream. The status 580 stickers were put on because no slipstream stickers were made up yet. The difference is the cabin I'm told. Dad also has all the specs for the yacht and all the sails too he says quite a few copies so I wilol dig them up this week. It looks nice though. Still wondering how many slipstreams were built though? This one was built in 1987. We sailed out to the tall ships in 1988 I remember that when I was about 15 or so.
