Outboard Well Cover for RL24
I am wondering if anyone has experimented with placing a cover in the outboard well to stop the water coming in while crusing, and if so where such a cover could be obtained. I live in the Brisbane area.

Is there a source of RL24 parts around Brisbane or nearby?

RE: Cover for outboard well for RL24
Malcolm,..prior to me purchasing my boat, (1993) the previous owner had the outboard well modified with 2 opening flaps. When the motor is raised, the flaps which hinge into the boat, can be closed and match the flare of the counter in a reasonably seamless fashion. I then lower the leg of the motor to hold the flaps closed against the force of the water. It is effective in keeping the water out of the well when cruising. It was carried out by a boat builder in Sale Vic. I will attempt to find a contact no. and name for the boat builder builder.

Thank you Rod for your suggestion. That does seem to be a reasonable way of handling the problem. It should be a reasonably easy process to install the hinged flaps.
