I am thinking of purchasing a new dinghy, I currently have an inflatable which is frustrating as it always seems to have a leak. I am thinking of getting a small fiberglass one. the idea of a folding dinghy sounds great - i have never seen one though.Weight to me is a big issue. Any ideas on best dinghy or know of where best to buy one?

Re: dinghy
I have a folding dinghy and I think it is ideal for RL28 size boats. I got the smaller one because it fits in the cabin beside the seats - safe and relatively out of the way. The only problem is that the small dinghy is harder to unfold so I tend to unfold it on the pontoon before departing and hang it off the back rail. It is really light.
You can get some info at: http://www.porta-bote.com.

They are usually at the boat shows (The Brisbane Boat show is now on!)

Re: dinghy
Hello Brendan The Treasurer of the Burdekin Trailer Yacht Club has a mould of a 2m X 1.4m clinker style dinghy, he has made one which he tows behind a South Coast 25 when cruising, after 8 days of cruising about Whitsundays it was still dry inside. For future longer trips we will look at hoisting it up on the spinaker pole to get it onto the fore deck & tow about for shorter runs Regards Rob
