Are you interested in the story behind the RL24?
Rob has done a fantastic job of telling us the story behind the RL28. He is now considering writing the story behind the RL24 as well but needs to know if anyone is interested.
If you would like to read how the RL24 came to be, please reply to this discussion.

Really really interested... and if Rob were to include a little about growing up and why the sailing and design were to become part of the path he chose that'd be great too!

Re: Are you interested in the story behind the RL24?
I have to say yes please.

Australia is a country which has developed very rapidly over the last 40 years. One thing we lack is factual information about that development. The RL story would provide some insight into how Rob Leg pioneered the trailer sailer for Australia and its move to America.

Australia needs more stories of successes like the RL24 story and this is an excellent forum for such a story.

If I could ad a wish, some paragraphs about the sailing scene in Australia after the 1956 Olympics would also interest me.

I really enjoyed reading the RL28 story. Being a RL24 owner and enthuasist I will be looking forward to the chapters with anticipation. Go for it Rob, thanks for a great boat.

Is the Pope still Catholic?
And while we're on the subject of boats (and designers) that/who became legends in their own lifetimes, has there ever been a story of the development of the Hartley 16?
Cheers
Mike

Re: Are you interested in the story behind the RL24?
The original RL24 is still in Yeppoon (Qld). I have just sold Tiki II locally, and she will be well cared for up here.

Re: Are you interested in the story behind the RL24?
It would be so much appreciated Rob if you could also write the RL24 story. We realise how much work it is. But to have a designer/builder of your standing, writing a personal account, is unique. I know many past and present RL owners, who will be forever gratefull.

There is interest even on the other side of the world, 50% of all New Jersery RL24 owners would like to read the story of the RL24.
