RL 28 CENTERBOARD CASE AND BOLT
Hi, I recently slipped and antifouled my RL 28.Also removed centerboard pin for inspection. Since re-entering water Iam geting a slow water leak in bilge area up front inspection hatch under front bunk near shower recess. I have sealed centerboard nuts and washers with sealant and they are not leaking. Could anyone help me with where the leak could be coming from. It seams to be coming from under the shower recess area maybe. You can see it slowy trickle into the front bilge area. Can the center board nuts be overtightend causing a crack in the centerboard casing on the inside, thankyou

Re: RL 28 CENTERBOARD CASE AND BOLT
Micheal. The bolt should not be more than firmly tightend, Too much tension will only distort the case sides , if you loosen off a little any small crack may close up. the board does not depend on the case sides for support, Rob

Re: RL 28 CENTERBOARD CASE AND BOLT
after replacing the 2 rubber washers I CUT DOWN TWO PAINT SPRAY CAN TOPS SO THEY WOULD JUST FIT OVER THE BOLT EACH END FILLED THEM WITH SELASTIC AND HELD THEM IN PLACE UNTIL THEY SET
