Re: RL28 Transducer location
Hi Rob,

I mounted the transducer in the well under the front berth. I wanted it forward of the centreboard to avoid turbulence - the disadvantage is the hull angles steeply here so the transducer is effectively shooting through more fibreglass. But it seems to work fine there to several metres when the sounder is used only for "bottom contact prevention". It may weaken the signal too much if the sounder is used to find deep holes for fishing. In that case it would be better under the cockpit floor where the hull is flatter but the turbulance would greatly affect readings at any speed.
