Seeking a replacement fairlead for RL28 (anchor chain lead)
I have a rather large and growing crack in the lead (over the bow) for the anchor chain. We used to call these "fairleads" but I'm not sure of the correct title - the pointiest part of the pointy end. Approx 15 - 20 cm long, fan shaped in plan, made of some cast / alloy, tapering at bow end to a raised fairing with a roller mounted therein.
I guess there are 2 questions - where to get a replacement and how to fit. Has anyone had a similar problem / performed this operation? Any tricks?

Hi Phil, this may or may not affect you but I just have some food for thought anyway. I keep my boat on a swing mooring and I'm thinking of modifying/ replacing my bow roller to accomodate a second roller(for the anchor) that extends 150mm beyond the 1st roller(for the mooring). This means the anchor can be left on the roller ready to go and being extended beyond the bow would lessen the chance of nasty gellcoat chips when retreiving the anchor.
